Dimapur, May 15 (TEN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has reiterated its earlier stand and called for affiliation of schools outside Nagaland State to the NBSE. “Representing the collective voice and desire of all the Naga students, the NSF addresses the need for affiliation of school outside Nagaland State to NBSE”, states a resolution adopted during its 3rd Federal Assembly held on May 6 at Kohima. The resolution of affiliation was among several other resolutions adopted during the assembly.A press note issued by NSF general secretary Hetoi Chishi also stated that the student body had passed a resolution with regard to introduction of Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre in Nagaland. “Sensing the adverse impact of the introduction of IPS cadre in Nagaland, the NSF had resisted and protested way back in 1986, in which two precious students were killed and more than 50 students injured”, stated the resolution while reminding that the NSF and the State government had an agreement to maintain the ratio of IPS and Nagaland Police Service (NPS) cadre in Nagaland state services. The same resolution also decided to review the said agreement and maintain it in the interest of the Naga community. On superannuation, the NSF expressed serious concern over the incomplete process and reaffirmed its stand to take strong steps on the demand of the length of service. On the NPSC issue, the NSF likewise unanimously resolved to demand for immediate implementation of the High Power Committee report on total revamping of NPSC which was approved by the Executive Council in the month of February 2008.The NSF also informed that the Federal Assembly had serious deliberation on many pertinent and confronting issues for the welfare of the students’ community in particular and Nagas in general. “In pursuance to some vital impending issues, the house has reaffirmed to vigorously pursue the matter till it gets an honourable solution”, stated the NSF in its press note.
