Schlitt-Stone Java keeps Dimapur Rendezvous
John Schillt and his band Stone Java in performance at DDSC Stadium on Thursday, May 2008. Unbelievable, the gig was just 'beyond belief'. DDSC Stadium, Dimapur was the place to be Thursday night as Stonejava-the new gospel rock band founded by Petra's vocalist John Schlitt- performed live and quenched the thirst of the music freaks present there. Though the night started fashionably late, just by a small matter of one hour, the opening saw a screening of Petra's track, 'Save me', and everyone knew the moment had arrived.
They topped off their set by playing Petra's most widespread track, 'No Doubt', which sent everyone in a tizzy. 'Creed' was well and truly unleashed. Catching everyone's attention was Petra's all time favourite 'God is too big'. There was a lot of head banging activity on stage and the situation was worse in the moshpit. Everybody wanted Schlitt to play some Petra's track and so he did. In between, the band also played some songs from their new album 'The Grafting' which really entertained the rock outfits. They performed songs including 'Unfaithful', 'God is too Big', 'Creed', 'Can't get away', 'Beyond belief', 'Jykle and Hyde', 'Just reach out', and worship songs including 'Blessed be the name the Lord' and 'I'm trading'. But the two songs that really got the crowd rocking were 'Just reach out', 'Beyond belief' and 'No doubt'. They'll be back again so get ready for some headbanging session if you've missed out this time.
