GBs & DBs lauded
I congratulate the Joint Forum of GBs & DBs for successfully organizing the peace rally in all the districts in Nagaland on May 20. As the traditional head of village and customary institutions you have proved that even today you are relevant and an effective force as conscience and peace keepers in this sectarian torn; truncated Naga society. While the attempts made earlier by various organizations had not yielded the desire result, this forum have been generally accepted by everyone mainly because of their genuine and neutrality approach. As long as you continue to firm and impartial in dealing with any situation, you will continue to receive full support and cooperation of the public which will be the main strength.
You have the blessings of all the frontal organizations like, the Naga Hoho, NSF, ENPO, Mothers organizations, Churches etc. besides the government and all other political parties. When so much of faith and expectation is there in this forum, you cannot let the people down, you have larger challenges ahead. Members are not to be discouraged but be more proactive at this hour of testing socio-political crisis which is threatening the very foundation of the Naga identity.
I further appeal to all good citizens, various organizations in the State that besides the moral support and prayers; monetary and material contribution to the joint forum for the worthy cause will be vital to carry on their work as peace keepers. Because, this is a voluntary sacrifice made by the organization which has no financial resource except their sense of duties to the society. To begin with I pledge Rs. 20,000/- (twenty thousand only) as personal contribution.
